Hi-Tech Cell Phone Addicts Causing Environmental Damage
I wrote a post earlier recommending basic pay-as-you-go cell phones for people who would like to have a cell phone for emergencies. However, most people continue to keep buying unnecessary, gadget-rich cell phones.
The European-based Low-tech Magazine (not to be confused with the U.S.-based Low-Tech Times) reports that hi-tech addicts constantly crave the latest cell phone features and will therefore own about 35 different cell phones during their lifetimes. This will result in horrible damage to the environment. Here is an excerpt from the Low-tech Magazine article:
If you want to make an ecological choice, there is only one option: keep your mobile as long as possible, and turn your back on all novelties.
Please take time to think about whether a new cell phone is really necessary before purchasing.
