Surgically Implanting Cell Phones in Human Bodies Is A Bad Idea

Even without the cancer risk, embedding cell phones within human bodies is a preposterous idea. The Low-Tech Times encourages people to enjoy life without always being tied to a dang wireless network.

However, according to a Reuters article by Sinead Carew, the inventor of the cell phone would like to see wireless devices surgically implanted into people. Here is an excerpt from the article:

Embedded wireless devices could also help solve the problem of phone power consumption, which has come a long way in the last three decades but is still a cause of frustration as increasingly complex devices require more energy.

“Here you’ve got this wonderful power supply called the human body that’s generating energy all the time,” he said. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have these devices built into you and powered by your body?”
