Last week, the Robot In the Woods site endorsed the Chumby, which is an alarm clock with Internet access. Despite the Robot in the Woods endorsement, The Low-Tech Times does not believe the Chumby is a necessary hi-tech gadget. A couple of questions come to mind:
- Why do you need an alarm clock with Internet access if you already have a computer?
- How does the Chumby know what URLs to access… is there a full size keyboard? If not, it does not seem like it would be easy to use.
The Low-Tech Times advices against purchasing the Chumby. Instead, the Low-Tech Times recommends a simple wind-up alarm clock.
