Buy Local Produce
My wife and I went to a farmer’s market today in The Plains, Virginia. Good reasons to buy produce locally include:
- With increasingly frequent salmonella and E. coli outbreaks, I think it makes sense to know where your produce comes from.
- Since the produce doesn’t have to be shipped hundreds or thousands of miles, it is fresher and tastes better.
- Support your local farmers.
Localharvest.org seems to have a decent lookup of farmer’s markets. Feel free to post other sources you recommend in the comments.
