Jason Calacanis Retires From Blogging

After retiring from blogging five weeks ago, today hi-tech entrepreneur Jason Calacanis posted a blog post reiterating that he is retired from blogging. In the post, he states that signing up for his email list is a more personal way of communicating compared with blogging and corresponding through comments:

No one else sees these words–they are between me and the reader and that is also wonderful and true. Posting to the comment section of a blog is meaningless when compared to sending an email containing your thoughts intended for the author. Folks say very, very deep, true and honest things in one to one communications that they can’t say in a blog comment. I love that.

What will Jason do next? Perhaps he will stop emailing and begin sending a hard-copy newsletter? Or start sending letters through the mail to penpals?

I applaud Jason Calacanis for his move to publish via a lower-tech medium. This editor is open to a starting a hard-copy newsletter should significant demand develop. However, The Low-Tech Times blog will remain online for now.

Certainly, comments on many blogs are filled with garbage. However, this site has not yet experienced a major problem with commenting, most likely due to its limited readership.
