My wife and I have been thinking of running the Greasey-Gooney 10k event in Browntown, VA tomorrow October 25th, 2008. The Greasey-Gooney 10k appears to be a very scenic course, especially with the magnificent Virginia fall foliage. However, unfortunately the weather forecast is calling for rain. That might make it somewhat challenging to get out of bed and run tomorrow morning.
If the weather forecast holds, however, runners should have excellent weather on Sunday, October 26, 2008 in the 33rd Marine Corp Marathon. The rain should be out of the area by Sunday. My wife and I ran the 25th edition of the Marine Corp Marathon several years ago through Arlington, VA and Washington, DC. Registration is closed for this year’s event.

As the Greasy-Gooney 10K race director, I’m not looking forward to getting out of bed early to spend a few hours in the rain either!
Hope we’ll see you there, but if not, I understand completely.
I didn’t make it but hope to see you next year! Actually, maybe I’ll even run some of the Winter Series.
