Ann Posegate wrote a nice article of winter driving tips for the Washington Post’s Capital Weather Gang site. Tips cover:
*Clear the Car
*Let Someone Know When You Go
*Leave Your Lights On
*Speed and Distance
*On Thin Ice
*Steer Clear
*Invisible Ice
I would also add to put a shovel and a bag of kitty litter in the car, which you can use to help should you get stuck. It’s also a good idea to have hat, gloves, and fusees in the car.
Note that none of these tips involve hi-tech gadgetry.
