I personally choose to watch free over-the-air tv instead of paying for a cable or satellite tv subscription service. Cable subscribers in at least two locations experienced Super Bowl viewing disruptions.

Brian Peterson of the Arizona Daily Star reports that the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl was interrupted by a pornographic program for Comcast subscribers:
The pornographic content that interrupted thousands of local Comcast subscribers’ Super Bowl broadcast was the result of an “isolated malicious act,” a company spokeswoman said Monday…
In light of the incident, Comcast says it will issue a $10 credit to any customers who say they viewed the 30-second clip, which featured full male nudity.

Glen Dickson of BroadcastingCable.com reports that a small number of RCN cable subscribers were unable to watch the Super Bowl:
As first reported by CBS owned-and-operated WCBS on Sunday night, residents of The Highgate apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side began experiencing problems with their RCN video service early Sunday afternoon. The problems weren’t fixed until late Sunday night, forcing some residents to travel to local bars to watch the Pittsburgh Steelers’ victory over the Arizona Cardinals.
