Many people, especially younger folks, are no longer paying for landline phone service at their residences. Their thinking is that they save money by canceling the landline service.
However, they might actually save more by breaking their hi-tech cellphone addiction and returning to land-line service. I was listening to free radio in my car this evening and WTOP 103.5 fm mentioned a study that found cellphone subscribers pay $3 per minute vs a much lower cost per minute that landline subscribers pay.
