With an effective flu shot against the H1N1 swine flu still months away, people of the world are turning to low tech methods of preventing the swine flu.
Hand Washing
One of the most effective things you can do to prevent being infected is to wash your hands frequently. Are you washing your hands more often?
Masks and Gloves
I haven’t resorted to wearing a mask or gloves to avoid the H1N1 swine flu virus. I happened to tune into Michael Savage’s radio show The Savage Nation the other night and he recommended wearing disposable medical gloves when pumping gas.
Touching Techniques for Germ Avoidance
Sometimes, I try to avoid touching public surfaces with my fingertips since we are more likely to inadvertently rub our eyes or itch our nose with a fingertip. For example, you can push an elevator button or crosswalk button with your knuckle or elbow to avoid touching with your fingertip.
Unfortunately perhaps, there is a fine line in our society between using common sense germ avoidance and looking like a germaphobic freak.
