Off the Grid Living

Matt at FiveCentNickel.com wrote an interesting article about how he and his wife (sort of) live without power one day out of each week:

Last week, while busily bullet-pointing how to prepare for a power outage, I noted that my wife and I were considering going “off the grid” one day a week as a way to save a bit of money and to spend more quality time together.

This sounds like a neat idea to me if you don’t go too extreme.  For me, refrigeration and hot water are two things I don’t want to live without.
