Later in July, Owosso, Michigan is hosting the largest train festival in the U.S. this year. They will have 8 operating steam locomotives including Southern Pacific 4449, Nickel Plate Road 765, and Pere Marquet 1225. Pere Marquet #1225 is the engine that the popular Polar Express train was based on.
I am not yet sure if I will be able to attend, but the event promises to be very exciting. Here’s the official promotional video featuring 1225 and 765:
