Music Mondays
I’m a fan of the Old Crow Medicine Show (OCMS). I first went to see them at the 9:30 Club in DC after my brother recommended them to me. As a fan of traditional bluegrass, at first I was skeptical but then found I really enjoyed their American roots songs and style.
I purchased their new DVD Live at the Orange Peel and Tennessee Theatre. It is an entertaining live production with no lip synching. The DVD contains a nice mix of their newer and older songs. Fans of OCMS will no doubt enjoy this DVD. If you’re not already familiar with OCMS, check out their music on iTunes [click

Great to hear you’re a fan of OCMS. They are a great band, but more than that, they were a catalyst for me to dive further into old time music, old country blues, american music history and to take up the fiddle after 20 years of playing guitar. I just can’t get enough fiddle these days.
I was at that 2 night run at the 930 club back in Sept ’08. Those were great shows. We need more old time music in the Baltimore / DC area.
Glad to hear you’re into OCMS and old time music. I wonder if we might have been at the same show… I also caught them down in Richmond and in Charlottesville.
Keep up the fiddle! I play a bit of guitar and banjo but need to get back into practicing.
