I watched a TV show called Parenthood on Saturday night for the first time. It was an okay show, but a little cheesy.
Anyway, they played a bit of a good song at the end called The Swimming Song. Several years ago, I used to pick and sing the song during open mic nights at Tiffany Tavern in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia with my friend M. Slawski. We called ourselves the Middle Ridge Boys.
The original version featured in the Parenthood episode was The Swimming Song – Attempted Mustache by Loudon Wainwright the 3rd. There is also a good version of the song done by the Earl Scruggs Revue, I believe featuring Loudon Wainwright III:
