As reported last week, this past weekend was an exciting one for steam fans in Tennessee. After some private events associated with the Lexington Group in Transportation History, there was a one-way mainline excursion back to Chattanooga from Knoxville. I understand there was a hot bearing issue on today’s trip, but overall the weekend was very successful. In addition to Southern 630 from the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, Southern 154 from Knoxville’s Three Rivers Rambler train was also used as motive power during the weekend events.
