Interference from Satellite Radio FM Transmitters

Long-time readers will know I’m a fan of free radio. I’ve blogged before about the advantages of free radio vs satellite radio, but wanted to write a post about another issue with satellite radio I’ve noticied.

Many satellite radio customers listen via plug and play devices that receive the satellite radio signals and broadcast them over a low-powered FM transmitter that can be picked up by their car stereos. On a few occasions, I experienced interference when driving near a vehicle using a satellite radio FM transmitter. On one such occasion, I clearly heard Bob Dylan hosting a program which is definitely a satellite radio show.

Have you ever experienced anything similar?
