150 Years of History Along the Richmond, Fredricksburg, and Potomac Railroad

150 Years of History Along the Richmond, Fredricksburg, and Potomac Railroad

My dad has been trying to reduce the clutter around his house so has been passing along some old train books and such to me.  One of the books he recently gave me is Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac Railroad Company, 150 Years, 1834-1984: A Brief Pictorial History by William E. Griffin, Jr.  Published in 1984, it is an interesting book telling the story of the RF&P Railroad throughout the years from pre-Civil War to it becoming a unit of CSX.  The book contains detailed sections on not only Richmond and Alexandria, but also on operations through towns along the route. Packed with nice black and white photographs throughout, I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the RF&P, CSX, or Virginia history.
