2010 NRHS Convention and West Virginia Rails Festival

Echoing Steam Whistle at Cass

Cass Scenic Railroad in West Virginia is a wonderful paradise for steam enthusiasts. I’d recommend visiting any time they are open, but they also have a railfan weekend each year featuring additional equipment and trains. This year the event took place in May.

CSX Capacity Expansion
Over Memorial Day Weekend, CSX was scheduled to install a new bridge over the NS (Norfolk Southern) mainline in Alexandria, VA impacting VRE (Virginia Railway Express) service. The VRE website explains:
